-Me: *Gets out of bed*
-Mom's Friend: *gives me 100$* This is for the report card and congrats on getting straight As
-Me: O-kay Thank You...
-Mom's Friend: I'll make you a deal, every time you get straight As like that I'll give you $100.
-My head: Didn't I start making that little deal with my family since like third grade? I've had pretty good grade every year since Kindergarden though.
-Me: Uh… Thank you?
-Mom's Friend: I will only give you this only if you promise me that you will always have good grades and be a good kid… *something something something* Always do your best …etc... don't let me down….*the rest of his unclear speech*
-My head: wait what? I've always had good grades though…
-Me: Oh..kay
-Mom: Whoa my 50 and another 100 each quarter grades, you are living the life.
-Me: Not really, considering I have to use all of it to pay for the food at church every Sunday-every Month, School Field Trips, buying presents, and other expenses that I have to pay for myself……
-My Head: Trying not to waste money on myself here...
-Mom's Friend: Okay you can go to bed now
-Mom: Goodbye
-Me: Goodnight...? *half asleep walk back to room*
-My Head: SINCE WHEN DID I BECAME ONE OF THOSE DELINQUENT STUDENTS THAT HAVE TO BE REWARDED FOR EVERY LITTLE ACHIEVEMENTS/IMPROVEMENTS?? Stuff like this isn't unfamiliar to anyone. It's not like I've been getting Ds and Fs and this is my first straight As...
I don't know, that speech from my mom's friend just makes me question why I even bother having good grades every quarter when apparently everyone is going to think I'm going to slip up and end up being a hobo or something. Now I guess I have money which will probably be gone soon…
